Congratulations to Gary and Madeleine, who were married at the National Trust's Ormesby Hall in Middlesbrough, on Friday 28th June 2013. I was so thrilled to be asked to take part in their special day and witness their intimate ceremony in Ormesby's beautiful entrance hall.
Not even the relentless rain could dampen the spirits of the happy couple, or their guests. In fact, when I offered to shoot their portraits indoors Madeleine laughed, "I'm only going to wear this dress once, so it might as well get muddy!" The gardens were beautiful, even in the wet weather, and I especially loved photographing the bride's beautiful handmade veil. The newlyweds left for the reception under a scattering of confetti, in their carriage of choice: their first car, a little red Ford KA!
Many thanks to the staff at Ormesby Hall for being so accommodating, and to Gary's family who provided a taxi service! Madeleine and Gary were an exceptionally fun-loving and welcoming bride and groom, and it really was my pleasure to document their special day. I wish them a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness.
