Ruth and Ian's intimate village wedding was a true family affair - and their special day was a long time coming for this very patient couple! I was thrilled to be part of their relaxed and sunny celebration, and to join their friends and family in seeing them finally get their happily ever after.
Ruth and her girls (plus Tommy!) spent the morning preparing at the gorgeous King's Head in Letheringsett. I just loved their retro turquoise colour scheme and that distressed wood decor! Pia Plum Designs provided some beautiful details, including the lovely vintage-style table decorations and seating plan, while Ruth's good friend (and chauffeur extraordinaire!) Nicki worked her magic on the girl's hair styling. The party set off for church in a VW camper van - in keeping with that retro turquoise theme! - and met their guests at the historic St. Bartholomew's Church in Hanworth. This hidden treasure really is one of Norfolk's most beautiful, and most ancient, churches, and it holds a special place in this family's heart. After a touching ceremony, and a glass of champagne, the guests returned to the King's Head for an afternoon of Pimm's, laughter, and sunshine - plus a surprise for the birthday bridesmaid, and a special appearance by the only missing member of the family: Dolly the dog!
Big thanks are due to the folks at the King's Head, and to Nicki for her nippy driving skills which got us to the church on time! Flowers were provided by Katie at The Flower Box and violinist Alison Sparrow entertained during the ceremony. Finally, my warmest wishes and heartfelt thanks to Ruth and Ian, plus their bridesmaids Bethany, Chloe, and Jess, and groomsman Tommy. Congratulations once more, and thanks for having me!
