Last Saturday over 80,000 people flooded downtown Oakland to take part in the city's women's march, one of hundreds held nationwide to advocate for women's rights and protest the policies of President Donald Trump. Protesters at Oakland's sister-march included families, high schoolers, veterans, and teachers, grandmothers in wheelchairs, and children on shoulders.
I joined them to photograph for the East Bay Express. A week on, here's a selection of my favourites.
Brief warning: many protest signs NSFW.
